1. a) Which main topic does the artifact relate to? In what ways?
It is actually related to the building the modern economy. The Civil War or most of wars can be related in building the modern economy. Of course,  at that time, the war cause a corrupt society. However, through the war, especially, through Civil War, America gained a foothold for developing. And , I tried to remake the scene of the War. Some tunnels are still remained as historical documentary.
b) Which other main topics does it also relate to?
On the aspect of 19th century, the tunnels shown there are related to Invention or ingenuity. Some of the readers can't agree with that idea. However, on the aspect of 19th century, storing mine or evacuating lots of people were definitely focused. And, the way I made the tunnel is different a bit. I made tricky 2 parts and those parts are all similar colors with the color of tree and the situation. The color matches as well for the purpose of the tunnel. In that senses, I think that to make a tunnel is meaningful to them.
2. Why did you choose this artifact, and how much time did you spend creating and or processing it?
Let's guess. There was 2 books on the table. One was with colorful flowers and pictures. The other was all black inked without any pictures. If a young girl would be recommended to choose one book, I'm pretty sure that she will choose first book. Yes, all things without picture can sound be boring. And, I do think that the words or some sentences cannot make my complete portfolio. For example, garden can't be decorated without careful care of gardener. Like the provision of nature, flower cannot grow without sun and water. And, I think my portfolio can't be perfect without understandable picture or more documentary. Although, it's not perfect, it will :D Keep coming and check it! This is why i chose this artifact. It's different from general artifacts. This is one of my favorite artifacts, also artifact 2!
I spent almost 4 hours to create. I haven't used Google Sketchup and I searched real circumstances of the Civil war so that i can recreate the scene.

3.What insights and understanding have you gained from the creation and/or processing of this artifact?
The tunnel has been existed the period of the Civil War. And, this tunnel was used to evacuate and also store weapon or mine. I thought that was existed from 20th century or something. That was the way how soldier evacuated.

4.Does this artifact reflect your best work and/or ideas? Why, or why not?
I tried my best. But I did want to put a soldier with the weapon. When I found some movies related to the Civil War, I found Glory would be reasonable to explain the historical background. The weapon the soldiers used can contain the historical background. Why? First of all, the form of battle was different. Major weapons were all muzzle-loading cannons and rifles. I did show that by google sketch up but couldn't find the way how to make a person. :( But the reason why i wanted to show is that England concluded that "It 's no use to use muzzle-loading styles." However, they still used that and that had some meanings.

5.Rate this artifact on a scale of -5 to 5(0 is neutral) for the following 4 criterion:
a) Impact on the quality of your Portfolio 4
I think something creative is better than the other artifacts.
b)Impact on your level of happiness/enjoyment 3

d)Level of creativity and originality 5

6.Any additional commencts.
