Case study #3 - Bismarck

Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck

"Prussia must concentrate and maintain its power for the favorable moment which has already slipped by several times. Prussia's boundaries according to the Vienna treaties are not favorable to a healthy state life. The great questions of the time will not be resolved by speeches and majority decisions—that was the great mistake of 1848 and 1849—but by iron and blood."

People may not know the meaning of the speech who was going to be called the Iron Chancellor, Even himself.

The politician who achieved the unity of the Germany and stood the center of the European politics.
Bismarck was the one who made great progress to the development of the Germany.

How was Germany during 19th century?

Different from Great Britain or France, Germany was not a nation-state even in the 19th century. However, the war of Napoleon and the French Revolution, the influence of Industrial revolution and the ideology of the Enlightenment raised a change to the nationalism and the liberalism of the Germany. Their try that the Germany should be a nation-state had been progressed. Even though the revolution of march was raised, their volition to be united was also pursuited by the class of power structure. At that time, the Kleindeutschtum of Preussen was strongly against the Grossdeutschtum of Austria. And, it was Bismarck who appeared at this point.

It is true that he brought great development to the Germany. About the policy of the economy, he made the policy of the protective duties. That was supportive for the capitalism of the Germany. In politics, he left everything about Bourgeois and system of the military. He cared the policies between the foreign countires. He colonized some countries in Africa like Togo, Cameroon. As a student who learns the subject Humanities, I think Bismarck is the one who brought the change to the world so that the generations can be continued. The policies that I wrote briefly didn't contain the domestic policies. It is within bounds to say that it might impossible for generations to be continued until 21th century without the start of Bismarck's kenspeckle welfare policies. He tried to build a welfare state against the socialist. Nevertheless, the start of welfare state was germany. How great his influence was!

Domestic policies and Germany by Bismarck
The German Empire and the domestic policies
---------------These websites can show his influence about the domestic policies. ------------

Welfare(domestic policies) has great power to nations. If a country has no domestic policies about the welfare, I am pretty sure that the nations of that country will leave. No one can imagine the country which doesn't have welfare policies in 21th century. There is no country which doesn't have domestic policies. However, that doesn't mean that the welfare policies of a certain country is completely well-developed. The knowledge of the welfare-state is still not enough for some countries.
In 21th country, there are still some countries which let people die for foods. There is no welfare country which has espotic government. For example, the china barely has welfare policies. Also, the case of North Korea is serious.
Article : the girl who was called "Clover girl" in North Korea
This news was the heart-stricken topic throughout the South Korea. After all, she died.

It is not too much to say that the purpose of the country is to build a plentiful welfare country.
And, It is definitely true that to build a welfare-state is the assignment for the country which can't be solved without the prodigy like Bismarck.

I hope the saying of politicians that expressed to build a welfare-state is not from the teeth forward.
