Case study #3 - The French Revolution

<Lyrics>
There he runs, In disguise
He runs fast, from Paris
Runs fast with, family
In Bourgeois dress
Spotted here you will not be fine fine
Just blame everything on the mon-arch
You here covered in spit and curse-curse
So let's go, so let's go (we got the Chaos)
(F ...ra..n....c..e) all people need time
(F...ra..n....c..e) the whole world looking
(Lo...u.....i...s) yeah, yeah, come back
Limited monarchy, peasants will be fine

There he runs, In disguise
He runs fast, from Paris
Runs fast with, family
In Bourgeois dress
Division quickly formed
One side were the Jacobin
Disagree, were Girondine
Independence
(hoo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo) alright, alright, alright
(hoo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo) ah,ah,ah,ah
(hoo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo) alright, alright, alright
(hoo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo) ah, ah, ah, ah
Sansculottes consisted many of urban laborers
peasant, other French poor who disdained
Austria and Prussia have great war
Ya~they lost, Ya~ they lost, we got the party

(hoooooooooooooooooooooo) Sansculottes were uncontrolled
(hoooooooooooooooooooooo) Hysterically
(hoooooooooooooooooooooo) Yeah, Yeah, with them all,
Let's plan , Kill them all, we don't care that much.
They are fierce, they are tough
They are mad, gone insane.
Masscre, that they made
Has proven all.
There they ran, Killed people
In prison, at Paris
They succeed, gained freedom
Not satisfied.

so it all fall-all-all apart (after the king went)
People lost their trust (yo,yo,eah, did-n't they?)
Some people want war (yeah) some raided prisons (ahh!)
Constitutional Monarchy (it looks good, don't it?) Austria and Prussia
(yo,yo,yeah,t-they won) Remove the sansculottes (yeah)
And that's that happened (uh-huh, and so)
There he runs, In disguise
He runs fast, from Paris
Runs fast with, family
In Bourgeois dress
Jacobins, Giordins,
Sanscullotes, hysterics
The Chaos, the Madness
French revolution

*Reflection
1. a) Which main topic does the artifact relate to? In what ways?
This artifact is mainly about the French Revolution. It is related to Nationalism and Liberalism : Creation of the nation- are (Especially, Europe Area). As I mentioned on my post Nationalism, the revolution can be contained to Nationalism. Nationalism is the desire for political independence of people who feel they are historically or culturally a separate group within a country.
b) Which other main topics does it also relate to?
It is also related to the class consciousness. By the influence of the French Revolution, political cataclysm happened throughout the Europe. And feudal society is getting down after the revolution.
2. Why did you choose this artifact, and how much time did you spend creating and or processing it?
I made our project be one of artifacts since we contributed our best efforts by singing.
Based on the the information from Louis's escape to the French Revolution, our group made a song with changed lyrics. I am not sure how much we spent exactly. Maybe 4 or 5 hours or so. We had a difficulty to change the lyrics of song.

3.What insights and understanding have you gained from the creation and/or processing of this artifact?

After the French Revolution, the feudalism had abolished. Through that, I could know how great influence the French Revolution had.

4.Does this artifact reflect your best work and/or ideas? Why, or why not?

Our group tried our best with best efforts. All of us separated our parts of lyrics and matched with the French Revolution. We recorded the song. And Amanda edited with her talents. And Cathy made the prezi for showing better understanding about the French Revolution and the King Louis.

5.Rate this artifact on a scale of -5 to 5(0 is neutral) for the following 4 criterion:
a) Impact on the quality of your Portfolio 5 I guess this group singing shows great contribution after understanding of the basic information
b)Impact on your level of happiness/enjoyment 5 I enjoyed by making this video. I was super shy though. All of us asked mrs.Saulon whether it's okay to go to bathroom. We were so shy to show this on the screen. However I still had much fun with my group mates.
c)Impact on your learning 5 Remaking the lyrics can't be done if there is no understanding about the French Revolution and Louis
d)Level of creativity and originality 5
6.Any additional commencts.
Thank you.
