1. a) Which main topic does the artifact relate to? In what ways? It is related to the notion of frontier. Basically, frontier means the case of the America. A frontier is a border between two countries. In this case, Frontier means the boundary between a reclamied land and unreclaimed land in America especially 19th century. They explored the unknown area under the instruction of Thomas Jefferson president. They discovered everything about the unknown area. Keeping exploring, they crossed mountains, rivers. And after then, they could have the map based on geographic informations. I found the informations about what they got after expedition by searching.

That is the incident classed as the important incident next the enactment of a constitution by the historians. By the Louisiana Purchase, America got the international source of wealth. Also, they had confidence of a powerful nation while they experienced political confusion at the time of establishment a country. And in that sense, that was the international incident as the expression of Henry Adams who was the history of future generations. Because the Louisiana is the vast territory including the Continental Divide.
This is the route of Lewis and Clark expedition. Basically, that was the Long expedition from the Saint Louis passing the Rocky Mountains to the northwest Oregon which is almost 800 miles.
The transcontinental success of Alexander Mackenzie stimulated the western research desire of Jefferson president. Thomas issued the expedition task to Lewis who was a secretary of him. For keeping their powder dry, he scouted William Clark as joint general.
Because most part of the schedule of expedition became American possession, they didn’t care about the France and Spain. The preparation got revived.
On May, 14, 1804, The Corps of Discovery finished the preparation for one year, finally, started their camp area. Behind the command of Clark, they started ascending the Missouri river. All members were 44, however, only 33 members withstand a long expedition well and came back to Saint Louis. They were not sure about the safe expedition, nevertheless, their fighting spirit were extremely high. All members of expedition knew exact mission, including the purpose of this expedition. Camp Dubois is the confluence between Missouri river and Mississippi river. Now, in Camp Dubois there are the things which reappeared the training before Expedition. However, the effective departing point can be founded at the Confluence Point State Park in Western Alton. The Expedition can be divided by three main places; Abundant Great Plains, Rough Rocky Mountains, Northwestern coast area. By moving the area, the members of Expedition should get used to the new circumstances. In their way, the relation with the native Indians was also dilemma with the new circumstances. Accordingly, Jefferson instructed that act for making a convivial atmosphere, and try to show that America government is in flavor of cooperating actively.
Their correct behavior or kind behavior made Native Indians trust them. Whenever they fall into difficult situation, the reason why they got helped by Native Indians was that that trust.
From Saint Louis to Fort Mandan expedition was difficult expedition. They should get used to new circumstances and be nervous for every second. However, the members expected the unknown world and they were curious to discover. Overall, two people left the expedition and one member died. These are the occurrences in first expedition. Because first expedition contained broad great plains and dried area, they met new animals and plants. That was exotic with the scenery. And, also I could notice the description of Clark. (July, 19, 1804)
However, the impression description of Clark is compared with the explorers such as Zebulon Montgomery Pike who called that area as Great American Desert. For the dried area.
Expedition decided to have the winter in Fort Mandan as the cold weather. They were nice to the Mandan Natives, posing to learn the culture of the Mandan. However, like most of white Americans, they basically thought them as a barbarous people.
Whenever they meet Indians, they explained the change of owners of Louisiana. They let them know about the Mississippi and Missouri area. Without exchange with Indians, the expedition was impossible. They instructed geographic information also show the ways. Especially the meeting with Sacagawea was the big fortune to the expedition. She helped everything including the translation problem, accommodation problem, finding the foods, showing the geographic information. She made her son Jean Baptiste to the member of the expedition. That causes to alley a Indian’s wariness. She was the only woman who explored with them, also be on everyone’s lips. She was mythic existence.
According to thawed the Missouri river, they started moving from Fort Mandan. They reached Great falls which separating the Missouri river, passing Yellow stone river, Muraius river. Missouri river separated three ways and around Lemhi pass in Rocky Mountains, the river course became one course. By the help of Shoshone Indians, they started crossing Bitterroot Mountain. They finally crossed and reached Clearwater valley of Idaho state. They could make sure that there is no way to go India by passing American continent that Colombus tried to find.
They passed the Snake River with a help of Nez Perce Indians. And they reached Colombia river, and December,3, 1805, They finally got the Pacific. They decide to have the winter at there. They named their came Fort Clatsop. After 573 days from starting point, it was long way which is 4134 miles.
March, next year, they started to come back to Saint Louis. Their way was quite fast compared to beginning. Around the middle of May, they reached the foot of a Bitterroot mountain. They waited for one month for thawing. June, 24, They started crossing Bitterroot Mountain. They crossed Rollo trail for five days. July, 3, they separated their team. Louis explored the Muraius River for finding shortcut to big valley, while Clark explored North part of Yellow Stone River. They met August,13 at Missouri river. And they came to Mandan at next day. In the middle of Louis’s explore, they had fight with the Black Foot Indians who tried to steal their horse. Louis suffered gunshot. On their way, they continued circumnavigation without pause, except for stopping by the grave of Charles Floyd. Their expedition took six months to come back.
Their return was big shot to Saint Louis citizens who believed that they all died. They got reward for their hard work. Lewis and Clark expedition is the last expedition of exploring western course starting from Colombus course. According to this expedition, Americans made sure that there’s no western course which stimulated westerner’s greed of exploration for a long time.
Also, they exclaimed for dominium of Oregon Area. Basically, they contributed American Western expansion well. In a ward, by requiring to the American society about the informant of geography, map of Western world, climate, ecology, Indians, that becomes resolute foundation of Western pioneer.
The members of Expedition got spotlights as hero, however, their great achievement got forgotten in the memory of a citizen of the world. Also, the tragic death of Louis showed the life of downhill road. The expedition which leads the great development of America will be remembered to the Americans forever as America Epic.

b) Which other main topics does it also relate to? I think my google earth based on Lewis and Clark is also related to the Race relations : abolition,segregation, and Anti-semitism. Generally, people think that the segregation can happen after the country has enough wealth passably. In my opinion, The America before the Lewis and Clark expedition has enough wealth. I used the "only" before 13 colonies, though. However, that cannot be limited as a less developed country. It possibly happen even now to real less developed country. The meaning that they had 13 colonies cannot be limited as the best country, that still has the meaning of good country. And, while the expedition was exploring, whenever they met Native Americans, they tried to explain the change of owners. Yes, the unknown country which the expedition and the Thomas president wanted to explore was the country which the tribes such as Native American lives. Of course, America government didn't contact with them even though they live in same continent. Before the expedition, they didn't try to exchange culture or something. Basically, the white American thought that they were barborous people. They might think still now. In that sense, i think this also shows the race relation even though the informations cannot be stated literally.

I bet i spent lots of time for making this. Not only just the searching, but even the recording took a lot. I got some help from my father, too. I cannot read and click at the same time. Because i'm not multitasking like a computer. However, while i was organizing the informations that i founded from the Internet, the magic just happened. As a magician, i cannot tell you why because, i don't know the secret. Not just this artifact,but the whole artifacts have special ability. I didn't try to memorize by writing or reading 100 times. However, everything i found is organized in my brain accurately. That why i thought that i don't think organizing the artifact is not the meaning of "Wasting Time."

I also tried to understand the documentaries are still visible. Even though the America changed and still continued, they tried for remaining American Epic by displaying in the park,historical documenary. And, I tried to put those informations to my script.

I think i do my best for my entire artifacts. I really tried for organizing better based on Rublic. And, this time, even if the uploading video has some problems for the format of video, i think i did my best for searching and organizing the main informations.
